In anything you do or anywhere you go, there is some form of knowledge management implemented within that process or that place. It may be knowledge management that may not be specifically known or it may be a large part of that place and their work ethics. But there is the knowledge that people have that they may not know they possess and there is knowledge that people have that they know they have and may or may not share this information. Either way you think about it, there is always an opportunity to learn something in everything you may do everyday.  It might be useful to pick up a knowledge management magazine and learn how other companies are implementing KM processes, and see if that could make sense for your application.  Likewise, if you are looking for employment at a knowledge mgmt company, you should research and see how KM works in a wide variety of industries.
